The Monster Bus

Bus themed ride trucks like this one, The Monster Bus, are a popular trend among ride trucks.

A ride truck is a special kind of monster truck that is specifically designed to give rides to passengers. Ride trucks are popular at many monster truck events, which offer rides to spectators prior to the show during the pit party as well as after the event. Sometimes, ride trucks also offer rides during intermission. The engines on ride trucks are typically tuned down and are not as loud or powerful as regular competition trucks, so they very rarely crush cars, although some trucks, such as at Monster Jam World Finals pit parties have small ramps for driving over cars. However, a few ride trucks, such as Red Dragon, have crushed cars like a racing truck, although not in actual competition. They typically have a capacity of 8 (4 on each side), 10 (5 on each side) or in more seldom cases 12 (6 on each side). A popular trend among ride trucks is bus themed trucks. Such ride trucks include but are not limited to The Monster Bus, Surf Monster, South Park, and Kool Bus (which was later converted to Grave Digger's Boneyard Shuttle). Oddly enough, all existing die-cast models of ride trucks are made with the plastic chassis, identical to die-cast competition trucks. Driving Skool and Expelled were both bus truck diecasts made by Hot Wheels and shared the same mold as The Monster Bus and Surf Monster: neither of which were made in real life.

Grave Digger 11

Some trucks have both competition and ride truck versions of themselves. Grave Digger 9 for example, was a Grave Digger ride truck, which has since been converted into Extinguisher. Grave Digger 11 was the 2nd Grave Digger ride truck to be built. It sold to Randy Brown and converted into the War Wizard ride truck, then later the Pure Adrenaline ride truck, and then back to the Grave Digger ride truck in 2012, which it remains to this day. There was also a Grave Digger ride truck known as Grave Digger's Boneyard Shuttle (which was formerly Kool Bus). Despite being an official Grave Digger truck, is not part of the main Grave Digger fleet, and is not numbered like other two trucks. Today, this truck is retired.

Predator's ride truck

Other competition trucks that also have (or had) ride trucks include, but are not limited to Blue Thunder, Predator, Pure Adrenaline, Sudden Impact, and War Wizard. A Little Tiger ride truck was planned, but it was cancelled and never built.
