Rick Swanson (Born July 24th, 1967) is a monster truck owner and semi-retired driver out of Rupert, Idaho (formerly Menifee, California). He is the owner of Obsession Racing who drove Obsession and its brother truck Obsessed. He is the father of Eric and uncle of Bo Swanson.
Career[]
Rick began driving in 1997.
In 2007, Rick drove Bulldozer in Tucson as a fill-in for Alex Blackwell, who was also filling-in for Grave Digger in Prescott Valley that same weekend.
In 2009, Rick debuted Obsessed, as his son was not old enough to drive it.
In 2011, Rick drove Backwards Bob in Anaheim before the truck was shelved until 2015. This would lead to the creation of Wrongway Rick in 2012, serving as an alter-ego to Obsession.
In 2014, Rick returned to driving Obsession, as his son Eric Swanson would start driving Obsessed.
In 2017, Rick's son Eric competed in the Double Down Showdown, he made it to the finals before losing to Tristan England after flipping his truck.

- Obsession isn’t currently competing as it is running under Wild Card.
- He has used several one off bodies used for commercials and even a 4D movie.
- Rick also ran Safety Kleen on the new obsession chassis.
