Pure Adrenaline (originally named Pure Adrenalin) was a Ford F-150 (formerly a Ford F-250 Super Duty) monster truck owned by Randy Brown out of Camden, North Carolina. Randy debuted the truck in 2000 and drove Pure Adrenaline until 2003 when he joined Team Grave Digger. Frank Krmel would drive Pure Adrenaline for a few years, and Steve Sims would drive it in 2007. Carl Van Horn and Ricky Brantley drove the truck for a few occasions in 2009, and Sims would drive the truck a couple times in 2010 on the Stone Crusher chassis.

Randy built the truck to compete primarily in the ProMT series, however, he did not have his MTRA license upon entering the series. Gary Porter was asked to drive the truck until Randy got the license. This favor from Gary, along with Camden, NC being close to the Grave Digger shop in Kill Devil Hills would be how Randy would get involved more with Monster Jam, as the team began competing with Monster Jam starting in 2001 and would eventually result in Randy Brown driving for Grave Digger starting in 2003.

Randy still owns the name, but has not run it since 2012, and likely does not plan to. It also ran as the B-truck to his Grave Diggers for a while. He has stated he would like to run the name when he retires, similar to what Gary Porter did with Carolina Crusher between 2015 and 2017.

History[]

  • 1998 - Randy Brown commissions Dan Patrick to build a chassis that would become Pure Adrenaline.
  • 2000 - Pure Adrenaline made its debut at the Darlington Raceway. Gary Porter drives the truck because Randy did not have a special license required to race at the time.
  • 2003 - Randy Brown officially joins Team Grave Digger. Frank Krmel becomes the driver for the truck in 2003.
  • 2004 - Carl Van Horn drives the truck until March, getting a stadium racing victory in Minneapolis. In March, Van Horn moved to Power Forward. The truck received an updated Ford F-150 body style after Van Horn crashes the truck in the final round of racing at Minneapolis. Chad Tingler became the new driver for the truck for the rest of the year. In August of this year, the truck was sponsored by, and runs as Mobile Hunting & Camping Supply for the Monster Jam event in Mobile, AL. Pure Adrenaline also receives one last body change, with the truck returning to a purple color.
  • 2005 - The Pure Adrenaline chassis is sold to Sudden Impact Racing, and becomes the Traxxas T-Maxx truck for the 2005 season. The Pure Adrenaline name is temporarily shelved during this time, although a Hot Wheels toy is released during this year, featuring a radically different body design.
  • 2007 - Pure Adrenaline's name is brought back with Steve Sims, who drives the truck on Mopar Magic as an alter-ego. The truck runs an unwrapped white Chevrolet body with the name on the side.
  • 2009 - Pure Adrenaline returns to competition, running on the former Mountaineer chassis. The truck sports a new Ford F-150 body design, running the scheme used on the 2005 Hot Wheels release. Ricky Brantley runs the truck during this time. In Indianapolis, the truck runs as the Bob and Tom Show. During this time, a second Pure Adrenaline is used for displays by Steve Sims, running on Stone Crusher, using an undecorated Stone Crusher body with the name placed on the side.
  • 2010 - Pure Adrenaline competes exclusively under Steve Sims once again, running on the Stone Crusher chassis, but this time using the updated body used on Brantley's truck.
  • 2012 - Pure Adrenaline is brought back for the final time as of now for 3 shows in Naples Florida, running on the original Stone Crusher chassis, driven by Morgan Kane, and using the blue, undecorated Stone Crusher body, like in 2009. The name was brought out due to the fact that Steve Sims was also in attendance, driving his Stone Crusher truck, so as to not have a duplicate name running at the event. During the first competition on Friday night, Morgan Kane went on to win racing, defeating Frank Krmel in Advance Auto Parts Grinder.
  • 2013 - Pure Adrenaline is shelved again, and has not reappeared since.
