Reptoid is/was a custom 3D Reptile Chevrolet monster truck owned by Harper Motorsports. The truck was originally owned and driven by Jim Jack from 1992-2014 and later Mark Pedersen from 2014-2022 until the operation was acquired in 2023.

History[]

In 1992, Reptoid debuts as a new body on the former Terminator truck.

In 1994, Jim Jack builds a new chassis for the truck.

In 1997, A new body debuts, adding multicolored scales.

In 1999, The truck appears at World Finals "0" with Jim Jack. It gets to the semi-finals of racing, before losing to Bear Foot.

In 2000, The truck makes its second and final World Finals appearance, again with Jim Jack. He lost in the first round of racing to Gunslinger, and blew out the motor before hitting any obstacles in freestyle. Reptoid scored a 4 for this. Its freestyle run, along with Prowler and WCW Nitro Machine, is not shown on any televised material.

In 2004, Jim scores a huge racing win in Orlando. A new paint scheme debuts in Mobile, with more realistic details and the bottom teeth removed.

In 2014, The truck is sold to Mark Pedersen and original owner Jim Jack retires.

In 2016, The truck debuts another new paint scheme, this time being a bright green with a snake-like decal on both sides. Blood is added to the fangs and the bottom teeth return.

In 2021, The second chassis was sold to Vernon Motorsports and became Super Trooper after being heavily updated. Mark debuts a new PEI chassis for the truck, which used to be the Samson chassis that ran through 2020, which was modified to be a more modern-day PEI build. On September 11, 2021, the Reptoid team debuted a Reptoid Salutes design to honor victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks and armed forces of the United States. Brad Allen drove the truck at an event in Goodles, Michigan.

In September 2022, Sydney Pedersen makes her debut driving the truck in Hartford, Michigan. If she is Mark's wife or daughter is unknown.

In January 2023, the truck was sold to Mike Harper. The truck had circulated through several drivers, including Ken Wyatt, Preston Collins, Allen Pezo, and Devin Winfield before being shelved after first quarter. Allen also ran this chassis with an Outlaw body for one show. In Perry, Georgia, former Equalizer driver Greg Holbrook drove the truck.

Currently the truck is inactive as the chassis is currently running as Outlaw.

  • Just like El Toro Loco and Bulldozer, the truck was also notable for snorting smoke.
  • A reporter claims that Reptoid won freestyle in the November 1999 Houston show, although there is no evidence to support it.
