Doug Noelke (born April 11th, 1968) is a retired monster truck owner and driver out of Washington, Missouri. He was the original owner and driver of Tailgator and Big Dawg. He also ran a Mac Tools Bigfoot body on his Big Dawg chassis.
Career[]
Doug began his career in 2000, when he started driving Big Dawg.
In 2006, Doug debuted Tailgator. He leaves driving duties of Big Dawg to Dale Gerding.
In 2011, Doug won the Toughest Monster Truck Tour championship.
In 2013, Doug debuted Smashosaurus, but never drove it himself.
In 2017, Doug sold the original Big Dawg/Smashosaurus chassis to Brad Shippert, who converts it into Against the Grain.
In 2020, Doug announced retirement. In November, he debuted Public Nuisance for his final event in Granite City, Illinois on his Tailgator chassis.
In 2021, Tim Jones would purchase Tailgator and continues to run it today.
Trivia[]
- Doug was one of the more friendly owners/drivers, as you would see him normally walking his two dogs, for which Big Dawg got its name around the event venues.
