Martin "Marty" Garza is a retired monster truck owner and driver out of McAllen, Texas. He was best known for owning and driving Overkill and Extreme Overkill.
Career[]
Marty began driving in 1990, when he debuted Overkill. In 1992, Marty won the Thunder Nationals championship.
In 1993, Marty's original chassis was destroyed in a fire.
In 1994, Marty debuted Extreme Overkill.
In 1999, Marty sold the Extreme Overkill name to Paul Shafer, and the chassis to Paul Stender.
In 2014, Marty teamed up with Vaters Motorsports and they debuted Overkill Evolution with Mike Vaters II driving.
In 2018, Marty was inducted into the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame.
In 2019, Marty wrote and published a book on the history of monster trucks called "Monster Truck Technology".
In 2021, Marty made a one-off driving Overkill Evolution in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
In 2022, Marty made another one off in Odessa, Texas.
